Training

Our comprehensive training packages are designed to meet the training needs of every delegate; from front line response workers to specialist homicide detectives. Available in a variety of formats, including purely online, via interactive webinars and face-to-face, the training is delivered by Professor Jane Monckton-Smith with members of her team.

As keen innovators, our training also includes the Homicide Timeline film and an interactive app. All of our training options contain high quality content in an easy to understand format. The training can be delivered within the UK and internationally.

We do not accredit any other organisations or individuals to deliver the Homicide Timeline training. This ensures that our customers can be confident the training is delivered by experts who have a thorough and evidence-based knowledge of coercive control, stalking and homicide. Furthermore, our training is excellent value for money and we are happy to discuss your training needs via telephone or email.

Training Options

Online Training

This is an introduction to the principles of coercive control, stalking and the Homicide Timeline. It is aimed at front line professionals and delivered purely online at the delegate's own pace, taking around four hours to complete. The updated online training includes a new module on Violent Resistance, suicide and conspiratorial homicide.

The training is designed to keep delegates engaged with interactive exercises, commentary by Professor Jane Monckton-Smith and barrister, Sarah Ellis, and films of families of victims at each stage of the Homicide Timeline.

The cost of the training is priced per delegate. Our learning management system enables organisations to oversee the progression of delegates through the training modules. The training is accredited and delegates are awarded a certificate upon successful completion.

Webinars

Our webinars are designed for response officers and delegates who will benefit from a more detailed consideration of the Homicide Timeline by building on the online training. The webinar training is of four or six hours duration and is delivered by Professor Jane Monckton-Smith or a member of her team. We also offer bespoke webinar training to any organisation upon request.

The webinars include numerous case studies, a more detailed analysis of each stage of the Homicide Timeline and a Q and A session at the end, giving your delegates the opportunity to interact with Jane and other domestic abuse/homicide specialists.

Webinars are priced by the session, regardless of number of delegates, and can be delivered anywhere in the world.

Face-to-Face

F2F Standard

Our standard F2F training is a 1-day lecture-style session with no upper limit on delegate numbers.

This is aimed at delegates who seek a more detailed understanding of the Homicide Timeline, coercive control, stalking and patterns of risk escalation.

F2F training provides your delegates with the opportunity to discuss their own cases and experiences with Professor Jane Monckton-Smith and members of her team.

F2F Advanced

1 or 2-day training package available. Suitable for SIOs and specialists. This is interactive and designed for small groups of a maximum of 60 delegates. We can also provide bespoke training at clients' request. Please contact us with your training needs.

Homicide Training Film

The film is a highly innovative, engaging and versatile training method. Organisations have the choice of delivering the film via delegates' own devices on an individual basis or through an in-house trainer to larger audiences.

The film is of 2 hours duration and structured around coercive control, stalking and the Homicide Timeline. It includes input from Professor Jane Monckton-Smith and families bereaved through homicide.

Organisations purchase a 12-month licence of the film, which permits them to train as many delegates as they choose within that period.
